HGV Class 2 Driver (Part-time)
Job description
Isles of Scilly Steamship Company is looking to recruit an enthusiastic HGV Class 2 Driver, to be based at Lands End Airport near St Just, for the delivery of freight destined for the Isles of Scilly to Penzance Harbour. The role will be part time, with regular working on Wednesday and Friday 0800-1630, and will involve only local work, although a willingness to work full time hours to cover occasional periods of absence will be required. A valid ADR Licence would be beneficial, although training can be provided, as fuel will be carried on the vehicle.
Requirements

- Experience of working within a customer facing/focussed environment.
- HGV Class 2 licence.
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- You must be able to work alone effectively and in a timely fashion in addition to and as part of a team and always to a very high standard giving our customers a great service.
- Ensure the Daily Vehicle Inspection is completed and any defects found are reported to the Transport Manager.
- Uniform and relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
- Attend all training offered that is relevant to your role.
- Flexible approach to hours worked, including willingness to work occasional full time weeks to cover absence.
- Responsibility for vehicles driven and immediate reporting of any damage caused including to other road users.
- Offer customers both internal and external great customer service in all dealings, reporting back to your line manager any good and bad experiences.
- Attend review and appraisals with line manager, agreeing and working to specific objectives for personal development.
- Attend all team meetings, offering constructive input, adopting new methods of working as agreed.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
UK HGV Class 2 Licence
Valid CPC
Digital Tachograph Card
Desirable Qualifications:
ADR (although full training can be provided)
Fork Lift Truck Licence (although training can be provided if necessary)
