Scillonian III stewards (seasonal)

We are seeking applicants to join us at one of Cornwall’s fastest growing companies. As a Steward aboard our passenger ferry, you’ll be working as part of the busy team on Scillonian III.

Applicants must be able to commit to a 12.5-hour day (generally 9.5hours on duty), Full Time Staff 4 Days on/2 Days off. Part Time Staff 3 Days Per Week. Overtime and Extra Shifts available depending on Ship’s operational schedule. Monday – Sunday.

This is a seasonal position, commencing at the start of Scillonian III’s season in March and running through to the final sailing in early November.

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group is unique in the UK in terms of its breadth of transport operations including shipping, airline and airport services; providing lifeline links for both passengers and freight between the Isles of Scilly and the mainland.

Duties include:

• Operating and maintaining the Western Rocks Café Bars.
• To maintain all aspects of passenger services and catering service on-board Scillonian III.
• Compliance with Ships security and safety procedures.

Qualifications and requirements:

• A good general education, excellent communication and customer service skills.
• You should have a positive attitude and be flexible towards working hours.
• Applicants must hold Right to Work in the UK.

Staff will be required to pass an ENG1 medical and undertake Sea Survival (including wet drill), Crowd Control, First Aid  and to obtain a Food Hygiene Certificate (training will be provided)

Rota:

• A minimum of 4 days a week, depending on operational demands.
• Average day will start at 07:30 and finish at 19:30.
• 9.5hrs on duty with free time whilst on the Isles of Scilly.
