Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our logistics business.

Working for a small business means you will get involved with a variety of different tasks, so prioritising and flexibility is paramount.

Key responsibilities:

  • Pack and load products onto vans / HGV vehicles according to company’s specifications.
  • Deliver freight to residential areas, business and institutions supporting team members as and when required.

Requirements:

  • You must have accommodation on St Mary’s to be considered for this role
  • A full driving license
  • You must be a team player and have good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressurised environment
  • Ability to problem solve and think on one’s feet
  • You must be able to work alone effectively and in a timely fashion tin addition to and as part of a team and always to a very high standard giving our customers a great service.
  • Record all work undertaken on a driver sheet including where and when luggage was delivered, so the customer can be charged
  • Regular cleaning of the vehicle including maintenance checks and report directly to your manager any problems
  • Uniform is supplied with an expectation of clean and presentable image of staff
  • Attend all training offered sometimes this may mean staying away from home
  • Responsibility for vehicles driven including reporting any damage caused
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and enthusiasm with lots of passion and energy
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • A “can do” and “I can help you”” attitude
  • Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to multitask and carry out core routine duties.
  • An appropriate level of fitness as this is a physically demanding role.
  • Be reliable

Hours:

  • 40 hours per week which will include Saturdays, occasional Sundays and some bank holidays.
