Environmental policy

It is vital we continue to maintain our lifeline service to the islands in the most environmentally supportive way possible.

The Committee has developed an environmental strategy and has set measurable targets in every area of the business. Our policy is to strive for continuous improvements to our operations and procedures to reduce the impact on the environment. We aim to protect and promote good working practices and our Environmental Policy has been integrated into our Safety Management and Quality systems.

Environmental issues are an important factor when we look to the future of our transport activities and they feature heavily in the design of the new vessels. The Group is looking to design its future ships and aircraft such that they may be adapted to more environmentally friendly propulsion systems in the coming years.
