Steamship Group appoints islanders to Board of Directors

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group has appointed islander Clive Sibley to its Board of Directors.

It comes following a comprehensive selection process and is subject to the ratification at the Annual General Meeting in October.

Clive will take over from Sam Hicks, who has completed three terms on the board and is therefore obliged by the Articles of Association to stand down.

With experience in both aviation and shipping, Clive will become a valued member of the board, representing the interests of the islands and their communities.

Steve Hicks will also have served three terms at the following Annual General Meeting in 2027. The intention of the board is that Georgia May will join the board at that point. The board will invite Georgia to attend a number of meetings as an observer in advance of her formal start date.

Ian Howard, Chairman of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, said: “Our strategic vision is “Delivering for Scilly”, which means ensuring that the unique day-to-day realities, economic challenges and needs of the local community are directly voiced at board level.

“Our congratulations are extended to both Clive and Georgia and we look forward to them contributing to our mission.”
