Kevin George resigns as Non-Executive Director of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group

Kevin George has resigned as a Non-Executive Director (NED) of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group (ISSG) with immediate effect.

Kevin joined the ISSG Board in September 2019, where he chaired the Marine Asset Replacement Committee, overseeing the specification, design and build of the Menawethan and Scillonian IV.

In October 2020, Kevin was appointed Chairman of Aurigny Air Services (Aurigny) the state-owned airline of Guernsey. Recent developments in the commercial relationship between Skybus and Aurigny, including ongoing discussions between the businesses regarding amendments to services, have made the two roles increasingly difficult to maintain.

In these changed circumstances, Kevin has concluded that stepping down from the ISSG Board is the appropriate course of action. The Group would like to recognise Kevin’s significant contribution during his time on the Board. As Chairman of the Marine Asset Replacement Committee, he has played an important role in progressing the Group’s new vessels programme.  His experience, knowledge and guidance have been immensely valuable to the Board and project team throughout this major investment in the future of transport to the Isles of Scilly.

On behalf of the Group, we thank Kevin for his commitment, support and contribution. We wish him well for the future.
