Most recently, he has been working as an Inspecting Officer with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

His extensive experience spans airline operations, safety and regulatory compliance, operational performance, airline partnerships and organisational development. During his career, he has led complex aviation operations across the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on strengthening safety standards, improving operational efficiency and building high-performing teams.

Stuart Reid, Chief Executive of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Eddie to the Group. He brings a wealth of aviation experience and an impressive track record of leading complex airline operations, with a particular strength in operational performance, safety and developing successful teams.

“Skybus plays a vital role in connecting the Isles of Scilly with the mainland, and having strong operational leadership in place is fundamental to delivering the service our customers expect. Eddie’s experience and insight will be a real asset to the business.”

Eddie said: “I am delighted to be joining Skybus and look forward to working with the team as we move into this next chapter for the airline. My immediate focus will be on bringing stability and consistency to our operations, supporting the team and building a strong foundation for the future. Skybus has a great opportunity ahead, and I am looking forward to working together to strengthen the operation and return the airline to a position of continued success.”

In his new role, Eddie will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of Skybus, with responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient running of the business. Working closely with the Skybus management team, his priorities will include strengthening operational resilience, ensuring the right people and resources are in place, supporting colleagues across the operation and continuing to improve the customer experience.

He will also oversee Skybus’s financial performance, develop its airline partnerships and contribute to the longer-term strategic direction of the aviation business. Subject to CAA acceptance, he will additionally take on the role of Accountable Manager.

Eddie travelled to the Isles of Scilly on his first day to attend the Group’s AGM, where he had the opportunity to meet shareholders and key stakeholders, as well as begin getting to know colleagues across the operation.

His appointment reflects the Group’s continued commitment to strengthening the leadership and operational foundations of Skybus, supporting the delivery of dependable air services for islanders, visitors and businesses.
