Update on Sibley’s Fuel Acquisition | 29th  January 2026

In November, we announced that Isles of Scilly Steamship Group had acquired part of Sibley’s Fuels. The deal will see ISSG acquire Sibley’s fuel supplies to St Mary’s, with Sibley’s retaining marine sales and sales to St Agnes, Bryher, Tresco and St Martin’s.

We are now pleased to confirm that completion took place yesterday, Wednesday 28th January 2026, and we look forward to welcoming residents and businesses on St Mary’s to purchase their fuel directly from Island Carriers.

Over recent months, we have invested in upgrading our sites, including improvements to infrastructure to support new product lines. Customers will now be able to purchase propane gas bottles, coal, logs and kerosene (heating oil), alongside existing fuel supplies. In addition, a pay-at-pump facility will be available from the end of February, offering customers greater convenience and flexibility.

This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the islands with reliable, resilient services, and we are delighted to be expanding our role in serving the St Mary’s community.
