Ian joined the board in 2019 and became Chairman two months later. Having qualified as a solicitor in 1980, Ian spent most of his working life with Siemens before he chaired the board of one of Europe’s leading copper fabricators. He currently serves on the boards of a number of other companies and pension funds.
Kevin’s joined the board of directors in September 2019. His early career was in avionic engineering before he moved into the marine industry. Kevin is now the Chair of Aurigny Air Services in Guernsey and is the Chair of Trustees at the UK Sailing Academy (UKSA) charity in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
Stuart joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in July 2013 and was appointed as a Board director in June 2015. Stuart qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007.
Judith joined the company in October 2018 and was appointed as a Board director in May 2019. Judith qualified as a Chartered Certified accountant in 2001.
Born on St Mary’s, Steve Hicks was a cadet in the Merchant Navy with P&O. He spent over 20 years at sea predominantly in the offshore oil industry in the North Sea. He is one of the three pilots licensed for the waters of Scilly and now the Lifeboat Operations Manager for the St Mary’s Station.
Gary was appointed to the Board in August 2018. He has been practising as a Chartered Accountant for the last 30 years and is the Managing Director of Prydis Accounts Ltd.
Stuart joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in July 2013 and was appointed as a Board director in June 2015. Stuart qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007.
Judith joined the company in October 2018 and was appointed as a Board director in May 2019. Judith qualified as a Chartered Certified accountant in 2001.
Sharon is a Chartered Marketer and brings over 15 years of industry experience to her role, she joined the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group in July 2013.
Chris joined Isles of Scilly Steamship Group in May 2021 as Technical Superintendent. Chris has worked within the shipping industry, both as Chief Engineer at sea and on projects ashore, for over 30 years.
Peter joined Isles of Scilly Steamship Group in March 2024 as Site Manager for our new vessels build project. A former chief engineer, Lloyds Register surveyor and engineering consultant, Peter has a wealth of experience representing ship owners with the build of more than 120 new vessels.
Tom joined Isles of Scilly Steamship Group in January 2022 as Marine Superintendent. Tom previously worked for Red Funnel and spent many years at sea before coming ashore.
Tom served as Gry Maritha’s Chief Mate for 5 years before taking on the role of Master in 2022. Tom worked for Maersk in its offshore oil and gas division before joining the Steamship Group in 2017.
Justin has nearly over a decades experience on some of the world’s largest container ships. In May 2022, Justin became Chief Mate on the Gry Maritha, and in October 2023, he was promoted to Master.
Andrew joined the Steamship Group as Freight and Commercial Manager in August 2023. He has previously held management positions for logistic companies in the South East of England and has many years of experience in freight contract negotiations.
